[All work featured is my own]
Slime Slinger has been a collaborative university project. This uses UE5s forward renderer and targets 60fps on Steam Deck, though screenshots are taken on my desktop. While I'm not the only artist on the project, all the environment assets, lighting, and VFX, showcased here is my work.
Credit goes to our level designer Charlie Perry for the layout of the environment. I was handed very nice white-boxes to work from.
The rest of the team has been great too, and the game can be found here (under its working title): https://lazy-studio.itch.io/slime-life
This is a significant departure from my usual style, both in its cartoon aesthetic and a mix of natural elements among the hard surface models. I'm quite happy with what I've been able to achieve in the months we've been working on this (among other modules).
I've also created many post process effects such as an outline shader and halftone dithered AO to match the toon theme. Glossy surfaces also utilize a custom specular shader to avoid PBR reflections and accurate roughness, which is undesirable in this instance.
