Renault Clio (2020) 3D model

I got the chance to use a laser scanner at University, so I decided it would be a great opportunity to model my car.
I didn't have access to the scanner for very long and so the result was not particularly detailed, yet it was enough to get the essential proportions of the car and work of reference from there.

The high poly model was in the millions of tris, but the low poly used in all the unreal engine renders only consisted of 84,000 tris.

This project was also my chance to get familiar with substrate materials. In this case it was an essential part of simulating car paint with reasonable accuracy.

The environment is constructed mostly out of Quixel Megascans assets as it was not the focus of this project.
